Recent Performances:

  • I will be playing a concert with Great Falls Philharmonic at Christ the King Lutheran Church. The program includes Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte, Mendelssohn’s Symphony no.5, and Mahler’s Rückert Lieder. For more click this link.

  • I will be playing G. Holst’s The Cloud Messenger, and I. Holst’s Psalms at Westmoreland Congressional United Church of Christ. This program is conducted by Andrew Welch.

  • I will be playing Thousandth Orange by Caroline Shaw along with other members of the newly established Great Falls Philharmonic.

  • This concert featured two string quartets by A. Dvorak, and Jessie Montgomery at the Great Hall of the Library of Congress.

  • I will be presenting a lecture recital performing Veiled for viola and electronics by Niloufar Nourbakhsh. This recital is part of the course titled Music in Global Contexts and we will explore the piece, its compositional history, and its relevance and connection to the current socio-political events in Iran. We will also discuss the contemporary music within the Iranian diaspora and thoughts on identity, intersectionality, and music.

  • I was honored to join Ali Yazdanfar, Kimia Rafeian, Kajwan Ziaodini, and Reza Vali at the Clarice at UMD to perform a recital of works by composers from the Iranian diaspora. The event included a pre-concert talk with myself and composer Reza Vali on his music and the music in the Iranian Diaspora, recital of works for Double Bass and piano, and a performance of improvisatory works for Santoor and tombak. The event concluded with a conversation with Ali, and members of the audience on identity, duality, and life as a musician with roots in the Iranian diaspora.

  • I joined Niki Adsar and Sanam Emami at a night of gathering, poetry, story telling, and music at Rhizome DC. I played Song and Whispers for solo viola by Gity Razaz, Niloufar Nourbakhsh’s Veiled for viola and electronics, and Mozhgan Chahian’s Hani and Sheh Murid for solo viola.

  • I joined Erin Snedecor, Heather Stebbins, and Kirin Mcelwain at a concert that included Niloufar Nourbakhsh’s Veiled for viola and electronics, and Paul Wiancko’s American Haiku.

  • En Route performs works by Gubaidulina, Mazzoli, and Carlos Bandera. En Route shared the stage with dancers, Peter Redgrave and Orlando Johnson.

  • Amir Nasseri, Erin Snedecor, and I established the En Route ensemble and had our debut concert at Rhizome DC with works by Bach, Mazzoli, Mellits, and Gubaidulina!

  • I will play with the newly established Great Falls Philharmonic at their debut concert. Works include Beethoven’s 6th symphony, and the Coriolan Overture!

  • Amir Nasseri, Erin Snedecor, and I will perform works by Bach, Gubaidulina, Marc Mellits, Jessie Montgomery, and Missy Mazzoli.

  • I am invited to perform a concert of duets for viola and cello as part of this concert series which is a collaboration between the Balance Campaign Ensemble and Westminster Hall & Burying Ground in Baltimore. I will be joined by cellist, Erin Snedecor. Repertoire includes works by Paul Wiancko, Caroline Shaw, and Sahba Aminikia.

  • I will perform a lecture recital along with cellist, Erin Snedecor that includes improvisations, folk music, and Caoline Shaw’s Limestone and Felt.

  • Program includes Unknown Sea by David Conte, and Dona Nobis Pacem by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

  • I will perform with Balance Campaign for the concert “Balance Campaign At Lunch Under the Pipes: Shifting Landscapes”. For more info click here.

  • I will be at UTK to present a recital and a masterclass/workshop with the viola studio of professor Hillary Herndon. I will perform works from my debut album, Nemāno Gaona.

Currently based in the DMV, I collaborate with a variety of ensembles and orchestras in addition to my solo recitals and other concert. I founded the Yasna Ensemble in 2016, and have been working alongside amazing colleagues and performers to promote and perform Middle Eastern inspired music in the area and in different venues. Learn more about Yasna here. I also regularly collaborate with District Strings and perform in varieties of settings and instrumentations with DS’s amazingly talented performers.
